supernam이라는 이름은 이탈리아 베니스 대학의 교수인 Andrea Sardena 교수가 남수현이라는 발음을 못하여 불렀던 예명에서 비롯합니다.
1960년대 이탈리아의 아방가르드 건축이론 그룹 super studio의 오마쥬의 의미도 동시에 존재합니다
supernam was coined by Prof. Andrea Sardena when he couldn't pronounce soohyoun.
it is also an homage to superstudio.
건축설계는 개인이 가진 장소에 대한 꿈과 사회적 장소/문맥이 요구하는 건축적 가능성, 그리고 인간이 닿을 수 있는 깊이/아름다움/완성 사이의 평형을 만들기 위해 꾸준히 노력하는 과정입니다.
supernam studio는 구축환경의 개선을 위한 다양한 사고를 실험하기 위해 아카데미아와 프로페셔널이 함께 모인 연구집단입니다.
supernam studio는 현실에 만족하지 않습니다. 머물러서는 개선할 수 없습니다. 그러나 현실을 부정하지 않으며 현실적인 한계 속에서 가능성을 추구합니다. 이는 재정/예산일수도 있고, 관습일 수도 있으며 문화적 한계일 수도 있습니다.
이런 한계를 넘어 인간이 성취할 수 있는 아름다움을 꿈꿉니다. 아름다움은 우아함일 수도 있으며 기능적인 것일 수도 있습니다. 우리의 열망은 다른 이들이 참고할 수 있는 원형prototype을 제시하여 더 나은 환경을 만드는 것입니다.
Architecture is the continuing process of steadily endeavoring to create equilibrium between the dream of the individual entity and the architectural possibility required by the social place / context, to reach the depth / beauty / perfection.
supernam studio is an interdisciplinary research group / an architectural office where academies and professionals converge to experiment with various ideas to improve the built environment.
supernam studio tries to push forward to exceed reality. But we embrace the conditions of reality and pursue possibilities within the boundary. The limits can be imposed from budget, customary conventions or lack of imagination.
We strive for beauty, both elegant and functional. Our aspiration is to provide prototypes that others can utilize for better environment.
남수현
건축가. 명지대학교 건축학과 교수. 서울대학교 건축학과 학사(B.S.), 석사(M.S.), 예일건축대학(M.Arch, Yale School of Architecture)를 졸업하였고 건축사이다. 이로재에서 실무경험을 쌓고, 뉴욕 Gruzen Samton Architects에서 건축설계 후 귀국, HAUS2, 온고당에서 소장을 역임하였다. 건축작업으로 A-house, 더원빌딩, Y-HOUSE, 푸르니빌딩 등이 있으며 근대건축가의 합리성에 대해 연구를 하였다. 저서로 HOUSE CONTENTS (공저, 2009), MEDIUMNESS (중형성, 2012), 건축의 정석 (공저. 2022)역서로 인터랙티브 건축공간 (2010), 르 꼬르뷔제 200분의 1 (2012), 설계와 주거공간의 기초 (2012), 크로스오버 (2015) 인터렉티브 공간(2016) 단면의 정석(2017) 넥스토피아(공저, 2018) 등이 있다. <건축의 원형>에 대해 책을 준비하고 있다.
NAM Soohyoun
Architect. Professor at CAMU (College of Architecture, Myongji University). He graduated from Seoul National University, earned his M.S. at the same school and M.Arch at Yale School of Architecture. His main subject of study include the rationality of modern architects. He has worked for architect Seung H-sang at Iroje Architects & Planners and Gruzen Samton Architectus in New York. His work include A-house, Y-house, Prunni HQ and have published House Contents (2009), Mediumness (2012). Basics of Architecture (2022) and his latest translation include Crossover (2015) and Manual of section (2017) Nextopia(2018). He is currently writing <prime of architecture>.
최선미
최선미 소장은 건축사이며, 2000년도부터 설계를 한 베테랑 건축가이다. 경기대학교를 졸업하였으며, SiLAB에서 근무 후 2006년부터 솔리드로직 대표를 역임하였고 현재는 솔리드로직 건축사사무소 대표이다. 다양한 작업을 협업하였으며, LG 공모전 등 다양한 입상경력을 갖고 있다. 청운동 프로젝트, 판교 프로젝트 및 다양한 공모전을 함께 실행하고 있다.
CHOI Seon-mi
Choi Seon-mi is registered architect of KIRA(Korea Institute of Registered Architect) She graduated Kyonggi University and has been involved in practice from 2000. She has worked at SiLAB, founded ‘solidlogic partners’ in 2006 and is founder of ‘solidlogic architects’ from 2015 up to now. She has worked with us in various projects, won several competitions, including Chongeun dong project and Pangyo residence.
임재은
임재은 소장은 이로재, 위가건축, 온고당을 거쳐 솔로 디자인 그룹 소장을 역임하고 현재 KDApartners 대표이다. 한국건축가협회 정회원이며, 중국 위해기술대학 객좌교수이다. 저술로 101 small buildings, 건축가가 지은 집 108, 여섯건축가의 작은건축들 등이 있다.
LIM Jae Eun
Lim has worked for E-RA Architects, Wiga Architects, Ongodang. He was principal at Sollo Design Group and is CEO of KDApartners. He is member of KIA and invited professor at Wehae Tech. University in China. He has written 101 small buildings, Architecture by six architects.
